RARe infrastructure at the Europe Biobank Week 2025

Europe Biobank Web is jointly organized by BBMRI-ERIC (European Research Infrastructure for biobanking and biomolecular resources) and ESBB (European, Middle Eastern & African Society for Biopreservation and Biobanking). The main themes of the conference are biobanking and human health data, with a view to opening up to other fields.

Michèle Tixier Boichard (RARe Infrastructure Coordinator) presented the work in progress between RARe and DIPSo on a Biological Resource Management Plan for research teams.

The environment pillar was represented by Sylvia Bruneau, Environment Pillar Co-Leader, who presented the activity of the BRC4ENV pillar “The Biological Resource Centers for Environment of the French Research Infrastructure RARe” at the One Health: Non-human biobanking session, as well as the poster “The CSR DNA-Library project” concerning the long-term conservation of DNA molecules at room temperature.

The animal pillar was represented by Michèle Tixier Boichard and Delphine Muller (@BRIDGe platform manager), who will replace Michèle as pillar coordinator.

At the “Empowering the next generation: Education and training in biobanking” session, Michèle Tixier-Boichard presented the “G2P in a dish” workshop organized as part of the INFRA-DEV EuroFAANG project to facilitate the biobanking of cellular models and the use of genome editing to support 'genotype to phenotype' research in farm animals, while adhering to the ethical principles of the 3Rs.

The poster presented by Delphine Muller in the session “Samples fit for purpose- optimization of pre-analytics” dealt with the suitability of chicken blood samples for DNA extraction as a function of pre-analytical factors and storage time at the @BRIDGe platform BRC.
