The 2026 scientific seminar organised by the RARe infrastructure

Wednesday 30 September 2026, from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm

The 2026 scientific seminar organised by the RARe infrastructure will highlight the contribution of Biological Resource Centres (BRCs) as a unique scientific framework for carrying out ‘participatory science and research’ projects. The themes covered by the range of projects are extremely varied, reflecting the diversity of the collections housed in the BRCs across RARe’s five pillars. The focus on participatory science and research is fully in line with our objective of enabling agriculture and livestock farming to adapt to future conditions and to meet new challenges for future generations. The CRBs are at the heart of numerous research programmes designed to explore living organisms and ecosystems; they contribute to the promotion of biodiversity for agriculture and industry, food, the environment and health.

RARe 2025 Scientific Seminar

CRBs must manage large amounts of data associated with the biological resources they conserve. The theme of the RARe 2025 scientific seminar focuses on digital strategies. Digital technology offers tools to better manage and analyse this data. The programme will address the tools, challenges and future prospects of digital technology for CRBs.

Scientific Seminar 2024 “One Health

The seminar aims to illustrate the complex relationships that exist between the biotic and abiotic components of ecosystems, and to show the advantage of having an infrastructure such as RARe to stimulate new projects that enhance the diversity of its collections.

RARe 2023's annual scientific seminar will focus on "The Contribution of Biological Resources to Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation". The seminar will be held from Wednesday afternoon, September 20, to Thursday morning, September 21.

Indeed, biodiversity is at the heart of the agro-ecological transition as it is at the heart of the concerns of the infrastructure. How can BRCs participate in research on agro-ecological transition? The five talks in this webinar will help answer this question.

The RARe Microbiota Day is an event launched by the community of Biological Resource Centers for Agricultural Research gathered in the RARe infrastructure. This first day will be dedicated to issues related to the conservation of microbiotes/microbiomes and the methods available to evaluate it.
