RARe - Ressources agronomiques pour la recherche

Academic teaching and partnership

The RARe infrastructure is involved in training to raise awareness of the specific characteristics of CRBs and their areas of activity in biobanking, particularly with regard to the objectives and constraints of conserving biological resources of various kinds, involving a wide range of stakeholders.

RARe members regularly participate in academic training programmes for Master's 1 or 2 degrees, agricultural engineering courses and veterinary training programmes for approximately 600 hours per year.

They contribute to two Master's degrees dedicated to biobanks in France (ESTBB Lyon and UCA Nice) and to Master's degrees in biology, genetics and oncology.

Some of these courses are international. Some members contribute to continuing education (38 hours per year), particularly for breeders and veterinarians in the fields of reproduction and pathological anatomy. CRBs regularly welcome BTS interns and sometimes apprentices for practical training. Their work consists of raising awareness of the specificities of their field in terms of biobanking, particularly the objectives and constraints of conserving biological resources of various kinds, involving a wide range of stakeholders.

It is essential that future researchers are aware of the existence and missions of CRBs so that they can then integrate them as partners in their projects.

As part of European projects, members of RARe have co-organised summer schools on biobanking.
